Dr. Courtney Cousino PT, DPT
Courtney is a physical therapist who is passionate about empowering people to move, feel, and live better. She enjoys helping patients discover fun, accessible ways to incorporate movement and exercise into their daily lives, and believes that exercise can be enjoyable in many forms, from walking to creative, low-pressure activities.Courtney earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Saint Louis University in May 2019 and has been practicing since August 2019. She brings experience from a variety of clinical settings, including a step-down thoracic surgery unit, where she cared for patients recovering from lung transplants, lung cancer treatments, and esophageal disorders, as well as two years in inpatient rehabilitation, treating individuals with complex medical and functional needs.
She was drawn to pelvic floor physical therapy after hearing multiple friends and family members report pain during pregnancy and realizing how common, yet under-addressed, these concerns can be. Through this work, she discovered a strong passion for helping people address issues related to bowel, bladder, and sexual function, with particular clinical interests in pelvic pain, cardiopulmonary conditions, and care for amputees. Her goal is to help patients reduce pain, restore confidence, and return to the activities and relationships that matter most to them.Courtney strives to create a supportive, judgment free environment where patients feel comfortable talking openly about sensitive topics. She believes in individualized, patient centered care and works collaboratively with each person to develop treatment plans that reflect their unique goals and values.Outside of the clinic, Courtney enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and their cat & two dogs, as well as starting new crafting projects, cooking, reading, and unwinding with creative hobbies.
