Genne' DeHenau McDonald, PT

Physical Therapist
She/Her
Druid Hills

Genne' brings over 35 years of expertise in women's health, pelvic health, and oncological rehabilitation to her work, and a deeply personal commitment to the patients she serves. As a 26-year breast cancer survivor, she is passionate about empowering other cancer survivors and knows firsthand the transformative impact that specialized, compassionate care can have.

She especially enjoys treating lumbopelvic dysfunction, pelvic pain, and oncological rehabilitation, with extensive experience working with gynecologic and breast cancer survivors and a particular love for mobilizing adhesions from surgical interventions. She welcomes patients of all anatomies. As a former ACS Reach to Recovery Trainer and founder of Team Survivor North Florida, Genne' has spent her career ensuring that survivors have access to the care and support they deserve.

Genne' earned her physical therapy degree from Oakland University in 1989, but her path there began in medical school, where she was torn between OB/GYN and orthopedics. A single SI joint treatment from a manual physical therapist at Michigan State University changed everything. She began specializing in pelvic health in 1992, opened her first Women's Physical Therapy Clinic in Colorado Springs in 1993, and has since spearheaded five successful women's and pelvic health programs across her career. A contributing author to the first gynecological pelvic floor evaluation manual written for the APTA, she also served as a lecturer and exam writer for the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, adjunct faculty at the University of Florida, and founded the Oncological Rehabilitation Program at Shands Hospital. After a decade in corporate teaching roles mentoring PTs, physicians, PAs, and NPs, she is thrilled to return to direct patient care.

Outside the clinic, Genne' enjoys playing tennis, walking the beltline, hiking in the woods, renovating her loft, and making new friends in Atlanta.
