Dr. Starr Banks PT, DPT, MPH
Starr earned her undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Georgia State University and later completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of California–Los Angeles (UCLA) Fielding School of Public Health. After years in public health, Starr realized she was most fulfilled working directly with people—helping them heal and improve their quality of life through hands-on care. She returned to Georgia State University to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, blending her background in population health with a personal, patient-centered approach to rehabilitation.
Her interest in women’s health began during her MPH training and deepened in physical therapy school, when she recognized her own experiences with pelvic floor issues that had long been misunderstood or dismissed. This insight inspired her to specialize in pelvic health and advocate for more holistic and compassionate care for all individuals facing pelvic dysfunction.Today, Starr is passionate about providing individualized, inclusive treatment that empowers each patient to take an active role in their healing journey. She combines evidence-based practice with education, empathy, and a supportive environment that fosters trust and communication. Because pelvic health therapy often involves sensitive topics, Starr strives to bring compassion and, when appropriate, a sense of humor to every session. In addition to advanced training in pelvic floor dysfunction, pregnancy/postpartum rehabilitation, and sex counseling, Starr is certified in myofascial trigger point therapy (dry needling).Outside of the clinic, Starr enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible—walking, hiking, kayaking, or simply soaking up nature.
