Dr. Ceren Acik, PT, MS
Ceren is a physical therapist as well as a certified Pilates and Yoga instructor who views the human body as an integrated whole, blending physical therapy treatment with Pilates, yoga, and holistic movement strategies to promote optimal health. Ceren’s journey into physical therapy began at the age of 12, after witnessing her father’s remarkable recovery from a severe accident through two years of physical therapy. This experience left a lasting impact and sparked her desire to pursue a career in the field. Growing up in Istanbul, Turkiye, Ceren was also a volleyball athlete, which naturally led her toward orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. In high school, Ceren discovered Pilates and quickly became passionate about its effects on movement and the body. By the age of 18, she was a certified Pilates instructor, teaching while earning her Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy at Yeditepe University in Istanbul.
Her enthusiasm for movement and science brought her to the United States, where she completed a Master’s in Kinesiology and Exercise Science at California State University, Los Angeles. During her graduate studies, Ceren focused her research on baseball players and had the opportunity to present her work at several physical therapy conferences.Ceren practiced physical therapy in New York before settling in Los Angeles to specialize in pelvic floor physical therapy. Her interest in pelvic health deepened after her own experience with pelvic pain and her work with pregnant clients as a Pilates instructor. She became increasingly aware of the gaps in pelvic health care, particularly back in Turkey. Ceren’s mission is to grow as a pelvic floor PT and make this essential care accessible to all who need it.Outside the clinic, Ceren enjoys playing volleyball, lifting at the gym, cooking Mediterranean food, exploring new cafes, and trying different coffees. Maintaining close connections with her family and friends in Turkiye remains close to her heart.
