Dr. Valerie Walter, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist
She/Her
South Austin, Texas

Valerie was born and raised in Illinois and made the move to Texas in 2021 to follow her passion for physical therapy. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

Growing up with three sisters, Valerie experienced early on the strength of women supporting women—and also became aware of the gaps in care and stigma surrounding pelvic health. Her interest in women’s health naturally evolved into a deep passion for pelvic floor physical therapy, shaped by personal experiences and stories from those close to her. While completing a 3-month internship at Origin’s South Austin clinic during PT school, she fell in love with the specialty and the community—and knew she had found the right place to continue to grow as a provider.

Valerie is dedicated to creating a supportive, judgment-free space where patients feel genuinely heard and understood. She strives to provide compassionate, informed care—advocating for her patients, addressing gaps in the healthcare system, and breaking down stigma so each individual feels empowered and confident in their healing journey. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and loves to continue to learn and expand her expertise in all aspects of pelvic health!

She enjoys working with people of all genders and treats a wide range of pelvic floor conditions. Her clinical interests include painful sex, pregnancy-related pain and birth preparation, postpartum recovery, and bladder and bowel dysfunction.

When she's not in the clinic, Valerie enjoys exploring Austin, discovering new coffee shops, weightlifting, hiking, doing pilates and yoga, and spending time with her partner and their cat.
