Dr. Gokce Gulmez, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist
She/Her
Austin

Gokce is originally from Istanbul, Turkey, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2017. After working for a year in Turkey, she decided to pursue her career in the United States, inspired by the small number of licensed Turkish physical therapists practicing in the US. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana in 2019.

During her capstone project, Gokce was introduced to pelvic floor health and was struck by how many people silently suffer from issues that are often dismissed as “normal.” This discovery fueled her passion for helping others and led her to complete advanced pelvic floor courses with Herman & Wallace, as well as to become a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist. Gokce is dedicated to supporting patients through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery, offering mindful, movement-informed care that emphasizes strength, breath, and building trust in the body.

Gokce provides holistic, evidence-based physical therapy that is tailored to the unique needs of each patient. She has a particular passion for helping people manage issues such as bladder and fecal incontinence and prolapse, and is committed to empowering every person she works with to reclaim their health and confidence.

As an immigrant physical therapist, Gokce is proud to be part of Origin and values the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a diverse and supportive team. She is also passionate about raising pelvic health awareness in her home country and uses social media to share educational resources with Turkish-speaking communities.

In her free time, Gokce enjoys paddleboarding with her husband, walking with her child, practicing hot yoga, running at Zilker Park, and creating videos for her social media. She believes that even small changes can transform lives, and she is dedicated to helping others move, heal, and thrive.
