Dr. Rebecca Slape, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist
She/Her
Portland

Rebecca Slape received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Stony Brook University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Tennessee State University.

Rebecca developed a passion for pelvic health while working within skilled nursing facilities, experiencing how much incontinence impacts plan of care, discharge options and continuing support needs for older adults. The frequent response to a pelvic floor physical therapy referral of, ‘this is just how it is,’ highlighted the need for increased awareness around pelvic health and rehabilitation.

Rebecca focuses on fostering a therapeutic alliance with her patients, and giving them the tools they need to manage their pelvic health long after discharge from therapy. She is Herman and Wallace level 1A, 2A and 2B certified, and has taken further continuing education courses focusing on yoga for pelvic pain and myofascial mobilization. In addition to her love of working with older adults, she also has areas of interest in LGBTQ+ needs, pelvic pain, and chronic bowel disorders.

Outside of the clinic, Rebecca enjoys playing tabletop games with her husband and friends, handicrafts, going for long walks and stopping to smell the roses.
